Job description

#WeAreParamount on a mission to unleash the power of content... you in?
We've got the brands, we've got the stars, we've got the power to achieve our mission to entertain the planet - now all we're missing is... YOU! Becoming a part of Paramount means joining a team of passionate people who not only recognize the power of content but also enjoy a touch of fun and uniqueness. Together, we co-create moments that matter - both for our audiences and our employees - and aim to leave a positive mark on culture.

The Associate Producer (GFX) serves as shift supervisor within the CBS Sports HQ graphics team, leading the playout and execution of on-air graphics for live studio productions. This role blends creative storytelling, editorial judgment, and technical execution - building custom Photoshop and XPression graphics, coaching teammates, enforcing editorial standards, and keeping the control room running smoothly during tentpole live events.

This role supports a swing shift (4pm-1am) on-site at our Stamford office and nights, holidays and weekends are to be expected.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as shift supervisor: delegate assignments, troubleshoot basic graphics technical issues with Engineering, and provide feedback and coaching to teammates.
  • Collaborate with fellow Associate Producers, Graphic Designers, and Content Producers to plan graphic execution and align branding and strategy across the CBS Sports HQ graphics team.
  • Enforce CBS Sports editorial standards and align audience messaging within segments, reviewing graphics closely and in a timely fashion to catch mistakes.
  • Oversee coordination of graphics in the control room for tentpole events (e.g., Selection Sunday, Super Bowl Sunday, NBA Draft).
  • Collaborate directly with producers and the Research department to design and pitch custom Photoshop graphics and XPression templates that enhance storylines, statistics, and game analysis for viewers.
  • Provide feedback on custom studio wall graphics to elevate creativity and innovation.
  • Write succinct headlines that reflect key storylines, applying strong editorial judgment, critical thinking, and AP Style Guide standards.
  • Build graphics and operate ROSS XPression for live studio productions when needed; update manual game-driven and "evergreen" graphics throughout sports seasons.
  • Work well under pressure in a live control room environment, with strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
Basic Qualifications
  • 2 or more years of on-air graphics systems playout experience in a major market or at the network level.
  • Deep sports knowledge with college and professional sports beyond CBS Sports properties, including strong familiarity with fantasy and gambling.
  • Ability to work flexible hours - including nights, weekends, and holidays - under tight deadlines, with a proactive work ethic and willingness to take initiative and learn new skills.
Additional Qualifications
    • Comfortable making decisions and finding solutions as a supervisor/leader in prior teams or workplaces; experience delivering feedback and modeling professional behavior.
    • Prior experience utilizing ROSS XPression or Chyron.
    • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, and basic knowledge of After Effects.
    • Experience assisting design and production teams by creating custom walls using Adobe Photoshop and/or After Effects.
