Job description

Daystar Television Network is looking for an experience Assistant Producer to work at our Headquarters location in Bedford, Texas.  Serving as the frontline of our production team, the Assistant Producer will handle teleprompter, assist producers with various tasks in studio and out, and task with running errands. Must be a Christian committed to the gospel of Jesus Christ. 

Primarily assist in the daily production of quality, original programming for Dr. Douglas Weiss show and additional programs including but not limited to Ministry Now, Joni Table Talk, Heart for the World, and more. If you have the passion and drive to lead the way in creation of content that will make a difference and the following describes you, then you might be the person we’re looking for to fill this position.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Planning and organizing
  • Effectively communicating my ideas
  • To assist in producing multiple productions such as: Joni Table Talk, The Green Room, Heart for the World, and Gospel Music Showcase
  • To support the production’s senior producer as required
  • To assist in program tapings, manage projects from pre- to post-production, and help generate and develop content as needed
  • To contribute to writing copy, drafting emails, and making phone calls as they pertain to my assigned projects
  • To be flexible and adaptable in both my workflow and schedule
  • To use my gifts in a fast-paced, high-energy environment to effect change that is deep and meaningful
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must have great computer skills
  • A strong and committed Assistant Producer
  • Knowledgeable in the process of television production
  • An efficient time manager and able to work and successfully complete deadlines
  • Passionate about communicating the gospel to shine the light of Christ across the globe
  • A dedicated follower of Jesus Christ who wants to join a ministry with a heart for the world
  • Other duties as assigned

Education

A minimum of two years’ experience in television broadcast

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in television broadcast
  • Exemplary related skills (i.e., writing, video/audio editing, camera operation, etc.). Note: these skills are a preferred bonus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit (potentially excessive walking) at workstation for extended periods of time. 
  • Must be able to work shifts assigned. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
  • Must be able to work extended hours during special events (required).
