Job description

WOOD-TV is a strong market leader with a tradition of winning and we're looking for a dynamic Lifestyle Producer/Project Coordinator. We are looking for the right person to help grow our daily lifestyle program. If you bring fresh ideas and the drive to execute them, we want to talk. You'll be part show producer and part digital content creator, working with our executive producer to bring great segments to life. This position reports to the Executive Producer and plays a major role in executing day-to-day operations of both eightWest and Maranda Where You Live. Responsibilities will include developing compelling content, booth and in-studio producing, field producing, booking and guiding guests through the appearance process. Successful candidates should have experience in producing, writing, editing and an understanding of self-promotion in broadcast, digital and social media.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Builds daily rundowns, writes scripts, builds Xpression graphics.
  • Email or phone contact with clients/guests before studio arrival to produce segments.
  • In-studio producer - client/guest coordinator.
  • Generate new show content and ideas.
  • Write web content and post to social media.
  • Add to show's message on social media.
  • Work with photographers for video needed for the show.
  • Helps coordinate shared content with the EP.
  • Fills in when EP is not available (including producing & boothing the show, handling Account Executive requests, scheduling video shoots & edits).
  • Create proposals and recaps for Maranda partners.
  • Works with production crew to identify and address quality and efficiency issues.
  • Work on quarterly issues reports for eightWest/Maranda Where You Live.
  • Assists with special projects (Auto Show, Santa Parade, ArtPrize, Park Party Recess, Beautiful U, Summer Reading Club).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Skills:

  • Understand brand building directives.
  • Interact well with video journalists, anchors, videographers, managers, production, digital and engineering staff.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent verbal, written, grammar and analytical skills.
  • Ability to develop strong news judgment.
  • Possess journalistic integrity and understanding of viewer needs and expectations.
  • Ability to pivot as situations and needs change.
  • Knowledge of media production, communication and dissemination techniques and methods, including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.
  • Ability to meet quality standards for service & evaluate customer and client satisfaction.

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree preferred with at least two years related experience.
