Position Overview

The Associate Buyer is responsible for procurement activities on Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) parts. This role works to assure the timeliness of deliveries and accuracy of orders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generates purchase orders to ensure inventory levels for COTS parts
  • Process purchase requests and maintains accurate order data
  • Communicates, interfaces with, and builds professional relationships with suppliers
  • Performs Purchase Order (PO) schedule management to ensure on-time delivery and expedites as necessary
  • Assists with invoice discrepancies to ensure timely payment cycles
  • Processes return material authorizations (RMAs)
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year procurement experience required
  • Basic understanding of supply chain management in a manufacturing environment
  • Possess strong time management, organization and decision-making skills
  • Detail oriented, flexible, able to adapt to rapidly changing situations
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
  • Working knowledge of MS office applications

Compensation

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Expected pay range is between $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to be moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site location to another. The requirement will also have use of picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling. The employee is occasionally required to exert up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects and having to be perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
