Job description

Position Sacramento Area Sewer District (SacSewer) is currently accepting applications for an Associate Business Analyst position. Applications will be screened after the following filing deadlines at 5PM: 5/29/26, 6/15/26 (final) This class is the journey level class in the Business Analyst series. The Associate Business Analyst is utilized in multiple departments and the latter class will vary.

This position has semi-full range of duties as assigned and working independently receiving only occasional instruction or assistance and exercising judgment and initiative. Under general supervision, identifies, consolidates, and analyzes business data needs for Sacramento Area Sewer District (SacSewer) operating units. Establishes, develops and applies business-level logic and criteria to data findings and maximizes the use of existing business tools, and analyzes existing data and business processes and develops business intelligence solutions for the District.

Minimum Qualifications: Either: 1. Two years of full-time paid experience employed by SacSewer in either the class of Assistant Business Analyst or a class performing work comparable to that of Assistant Business Analyst. Or: 2.

A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in business administration, engineering, computer science, information systems, or other closely related field AND Three years of full-time paid experience performing work comparable to the Assistant Business Analyst, Information Technology Analyst or Assistant Engineer in an organization which supports the operation and/or maintenance of sewer systems, wastewater treatment facilities, public utilities, or industrial facilities. Or: 3. Completion of a certification program in Business Analysis from an accredited college or university.

AND Four years of full-time paid experience performing work comparable to the Assistant Business Analyst, Information Technology Analyst or Assistant Engineer in an organization which supports the operation and/or maintenance of sewer systems, wastewater treatment facilities, public utilities, or industrial facilities. Or: 4. An associate degree from an accredited junior college or university in business administration, engineering, computer science, information systems, or other field closely related to the intent of the class.

AND Four years of full-time paid experience performing work comparable to the Assistant Business Analyst, Information Technology Analyst or Assistant Engineer in an organization which supports the operation and/or maintenance of sewer systems, wastewater treatment facilities, public utilities, or industrial facilities. Or: 5. Completion of 60 semester units or more (or 90 quarter units or more) at an accredited junior college or university with a minimum of 30 semester units (or 45 quarter units) in business administration, engineering, computer science, information systems, or other field closely related to the intent of the class.

AND Four years of full-time paid experience performing work comparable to the Assistant Business Analyst, Information Technology Analyst or Assistant Engineer in an organization which supports the operation and/or maintenance of sewer systems, wastewater treatment facilities, public utilities, or industrial facilities.
