Description

MG-IP Law, PC (Muncy, Geissler, Olds & Lowe, PC) is seeking a full-time, fully remote IP Docketing Assistant to join our growing team.


The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing, prioritizing, processing, and docketing incoming mail and email, including correspondence from clients, foreign associates, opposing counsel, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The role also involves opening new matters, creating and maintaining electronic files, and ensuring that incoming documents are complete and compliant with USPTO requirements and MG-IP procedures.


Additional responsibilities include supporting the patent prosecution process through a variety of administrative and docketing functions, such as preparing client correspondence and invoices, generating reports, maintaining spreadsheets and databases, proofreading documents, and preparing and filing documents with the USPTO. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.


The IP Docketing Assistant is expected to maintain compliance with USPTO requirements and MG-IP policies and procedures while contributing to special projects and other firm initiatives as needed.


Prior patent docketing experience is preferred but not required. Candidates seeking to transition into a docketing role will be considered, provided they have at least two years of general intellectual property experience and a working familiarity with the patent prosecution process, including a basic understanding of USPTO rules, procedures, formalities, and deadlines. Prior trademark docketing experience is a plus but is not required. Candidates without trademark docketing experience must be willing to learn. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided.

Requirements

ย Applicants should have 2 years of general IP experience and must possess the following skills:ย 


- 2 years of general IP experience.
- Abilityย to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Strong organizational and writing skills.
- Precise proofreading skills and attention to detail.
- Abilityย to work under pressure in a high-volume environment.
- ย Sufficiently computer literate and capable in Chrome and Microsoft Office. ย 
- Must be able to lift/carry at least 20 lbs.


Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED certificate. A college degree is a plus.
