This role can be fully remote, or hybrid if near a major office. This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced IP detail oriented who enjoys managing teams, improving processes, ensuring accuracy, and partnering with attorneys and operational teams to deliver high-quality support.

Interested candidates with applicable experience that would like to be considered immediately should reach out to Kevin Ross with Robert Half in Philadelphia.

โ€ข Lead and manage a team of IP docketing professionals, including workload distribution, prioritization, training, development, and performance management.

โ€ข Oversee the accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of docketing activities across the team.

โ€ข Manage quality control and audit initiatives, identify process gaps, and implement corrective actions.

โ€ข Analyze operational metrics, including workload volume, turnaround times, overdue items, and error rates, and communicate trends and risks to leadership.

โ€ข Monitor changes in domestic and international IP laws, rules, and practices and coordinate updates to docketing procedures and systems.

โ€ข Maintain docketing rules, templates, workflows, and standard operating procedures in partnership with IP Operations.

โ€ข Serve as a subject matter expert on IP prosecution procedures, docketing requirements, and best practices.

โ€ข Oversee IP portfolio intake and transitions, including new client matters, attorney transitions, and client departures.

โ€ข Ensure the accurate setup, mapping, and transfer of portfolio data within IP management systems.

โ€ข Coordinate onboarding and training for attorneys and staff on IP management and docketing systems.

โ€ข Partner with internal departments and cross-functional teams to improve workflows, processes, and service delivery.

โ€ข Support recruiting, onboarding, training, performance reviews, scheduling, coverage, and other team management responsibilities.

Qualifications:

โ€ข 5+ years of progressive Intellectual Property management experience, including experience leading or supervising IP docketing professionals.

โ€ข Strong knowledge of patent and trademark prosecution processes from inception through completion.

โ€ข Prior experience working in a large law firm environment.

โ€ข Experience with IP management and docketing systems such as Anaqua and PATTSY.

โ€ข Experience with document and database management systems such as iManage.

โ€ข Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint.

โ€ข Experience with project management and change management methodologies.

โ€ข Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

โ€ข Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

โ€ข Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

โ€ข Ability to manage multiple priorities, competing deadlines, and changing business needs in a fast-paced environment.

โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IP docketing leader to join a collaborative legal environment and play a key role in developing people, improving processes, and supporting the continued growth of a sophisticated IP practice.
