We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for IP practitioners experienced in patent prosecution, trademark practice, IP litigation, prior art analysis, Office Action responses, patent drafting, clearance opinions, FTO analysis, and structured legal reasoning evaluation.

This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on intellectual property scenario design, patent and trademark analysis, attorney-quality reference response drafting, legal output evaluation, rubric-based review, and high-quality project execution. Selected professionals will apply their IP practice experience to design realistic legal scenarios, evaluate AI-generated legal responses, and provide structured feedback based on established legal and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

Professionals in this role may contribute to:

IP Scenario Design

  • Design realistic IP scenarios drawn from patent, trademark, prosecution, litigation, or portfolio practice
  • Create tasks involving Office Action responses, prior art analysis, patent drafting, clearance opinions, FTO analysis, TTAB proceedings, or IP portfolio issues
  • Develop legal prompts and scenario materials that reflect real-world IP workflows and practitioner-level judgment
  • Ensure scenarios are clear, realistic, technically accurate, and appropriate for structured evaluation

Attorney-Level Reference Responses & Legal Review

  • Write attorney-quality reference responses for patent, trademark, and IP analysis tasks
  • Evaluate AI-generated responses against legal accuracy, technical reasoning, practical judgment, and professional standards
  • Review outputs involving patent prosecution, claim analysis, trademark issues, prior art, clearance, FTO, and IP dispute materials
  • Identify gaps in legal reasoning, incomplete analysis, weak drafting, unsupported conclusions, or commercially impractical recommendations

Rubric-Based Evaluation & Feedback

  • Grade legal responses against structured rubrics and project-specific evaluation criteria
  • Provide clear written feedback explaining response strengths, weaknesses, and legal reasoning issues
  • Participate in onboarding and specialty calibration sessions to align review standards
  • Maintain accuracy, consistency, and professional judgment across submitted legal evaluation work

Ideal Profile

Strong candidates may have:

  • 1–4 years of professional experience in IP prosecution, trademark practice, IP litigation, patent analysis, or related legal work
  • Registration or admission in good standing with USPTO, CIPO, UKIPO, a bar association, or another relevant IP/legal authority depending on jurisdiction
  • Experience as a registered patent attorney, trademark practitioner, IP litigator, IP associate, in-house IP counsel, or senior associate in IP practice
  • Technical background in engineering, computer science, life sciences, chemistry, or a related technical field, especially for patent-focused work
  • Strong experience with patent drafting, Office Action responses, prior art analysis, clearance opinions, FTO analysis, trademark prosecution, or IP portfolio review
  • Excellent written communication skills and high attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, project-based environment

Educational Background

  • J.D., LL.B., LL.M., or equivalent legal education may be relevant depending on jurisdiction and project scope
  • Technical education or professional background in engineering, computer science, life sciences, chemistry, mechanical systems, electrical systems, or related fields may be especially valuable for patent work
  • Practical experience in IP prosecution, IP litigation, trademark practice, patent analysis, or legal technology review may also be valuable

Nice to Have

  • IP litigation experience involving claim charts, invalidity analysis, Markman hearing preparation, or infringement analysis
  • Experience with IP portfolio management, patent strategy, clearance reviews, or prosecution strategy
  • Inter Partes Review, Post-Grant Review, or other post-grant proceeding experience
  • Familiarity with patent analytics tools such as PatSnap, Derwent, Google Patents, or comparable platforms
  • Experience in life sciences, electrical, mechanical, computer science, software, or chemistry-focused patent prosecution
  • Availability for at least 15 hours per week, with higher availability preferred depending on project scope

Why This Opportunity

  • Apply patent, trademark, and IP legal expertise to structured remote project work
  • Contribute to high-quality legal reasoning review, IP scenario development, and rubric-based evaluation
  • Work on flexible assignments aligned with your prosecution, litigation, trademark, or patent analysis background
  • Use your practitioner-level judgment to evaluate IP reasoning, drafting quality, and technical-legal accuracy
  • Remote structure with competitive hourly compensation

Contract Details

  • Fully remote with flexible scheduling
  • Eligible professionals may be based in the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom depending on project needs
