Job description

The Purchasing Agent is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating the delivery of materials, equipment, and services required to support construction activities. This position works closely with project management, engineering, field operations, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely procurement while maintaining quality and cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and issue purchase orders.
Solicit supplier quotations and evaluate pricing.
Coordinate material purchases with project schedules.
Maintain vendor relationships and supplier communications.
Track purchase order status and delivery dates.
Resolve procurement discrepancies and supplier issues.
Coordinate material deliveries to project sites.
Maintain purchasing documentation and records.
Assist with contract administration.
Verify invoice accuracy against purchase orders.
Support inventory management activities.
Participate in supplier performance evaluations.

Required Qualifications

Associate's degree or equivalent purchasing experience.
