Purchasing Agent Responsibilities:

  • Review purchase requisitions to verify accuracy, specifications, quantities, and required delivery dates
  • Identify available inventory and coordinate internal stock transfers when applicable
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders based on approved requisitions, pricing, specifications, and supplier recommendations
  • Research suppliers, obtain quotes, compare pricing, and assist with vendor selection
  • Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and communicate regularly regarding orders, pricing, and delivery schedules
  • Monitor open purchase orders and proactively expedite or resolve delayed shipments
