Description
The Principal is responsible for the administration of Holy Cross School, Gibault's on-grounds accredited school.
Performance Standards
1. Implement the decisions of your immediate supervisor or managers within your chain of
command.
2. Provide a positive role model for the clients at all times through appearance, attitude, and
behavior.
3. Exhibit sensitivity to the clients' cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
4. Attend all in-services, General Staff Meetings, and meetings called by their supervisor.
5. Work harmoniously and effectively with co-workers.
6. Accomplish objectives and consistently produce satisfactory work.
7. Is faithful in reporting to work, staying on the job, and helping to meet institutional emergencies.
8. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
9. Comply with department guidelines, the Organization and Personnel Guidelines, and all expectations set by Gibault's administration.
10. Coordinate and develop ongoing professional development for staff.
11. Prepare staff schedules and monitor staff attendance.
12. Participate in the selection, hiring, and orientation process for all staff in your area of responsibility
13. Maintain the physical condition of facilities in your area of responsibility.
14. Provide leadership and direction to staff through daily supervision, individual supervisory sessions, annual performance appraisals, on-going training, and regularly scheduled meetings.
15. Directly supervise Education Coordinator, Teachers, and Assistant Principal.
16. Prepare reports for the Board of Trustees as assigned by the Executive Director and regularly attend committee meetings of the Board of Trustees.
17. Oversee special education program and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
18. Perform all risk management functions as defined by the agency risk management plan.
19. Perform all quality improvement functions as required by accrediting bodies and state licensing regulations.
20. Be directly responsible for the implementation of the Education program, based upon the mission of Gibault, Inc and meeting State standards.
21. Prepare semester calendars for the organization.
22. Oversee and select the curriculum for the regular school year and summer school sessions.
23. Maintain current academic records for each client and work with various school corporations to transfer records as needed.
24. Maintain compliance with applicable laws, mandates, and requirements of the Indiana State Board of Education.
25. Supervise all instructional and academic testing activities, including all special classroom projects and academic field trips.
26. Direct an on-going program of client awards for academic achievement.
27. Coordinate ISTEP testing for the appropriate grades, analyze results, and provide the education staff with a summary of results.
28. Take regular inventory of own emotional well-being. Develop and adhere to a self-care plan to promote wellness and prevent burnout.
29. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Specified Masters Degree in Education and a principal's license are required. Five years of experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
  • Submit to and pass all required background checks.
