For over 60 years, the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Hospital Dentistry has been a trusted provider of high-quality, affordable dental care for the community-especially for uninsured and underinsured patients. Delivered by skilled dental residents and supported by experienced faculty and community dentists, the program offers comprehensive services including restorative care, implants, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.

Based at Wilmington Hospital, the program extends across multiple care settings, providing a dynamic, mission-driven environment focused on improving access and outcomes for all patients.

The Medical Office Assistant I schedules appointments with attention to insurance, greets patients while collecting necessary information, and processes referrals while maintaining confidentiality.

Duties / Responsibilities:
The Medical Office Assistant I handles payments, verifies insurance coverage, coordinates referrals, and reconciles daily appointments and payments. They manage communications by answering calls, relaying messages, and using EMR systems to coordinate with providers and staff. The role includes updating patients, scheduling tests and appointments, maintaining medical records, resolving patient issues, supporting administrative tasks, and following safety protocols, with additional duties as needed.

Position Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or GED required.

  • Experience in a medical office setting is preferred but not required.

Hourly Pay Range: $17.32 - $25.12This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
