The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch Human Resource Management Unit is seeking an Administrative Trainee.

The Administrative Trainee role in Human Resource Management is part of a series, with the target class of Personnel Officer.  Following two years of on-the-job generalist training under the direction of an employee of higher grade, the successful candidate will advance to Associate Personnel Officer (Salary Group 24, starting at $86,974 annually).  Following two years as an Associate Personnel Officer, the successful candidate will be qualified for the title of Personnel Officer (Salary Group 27, starting at $100,466 annually).

Preferred candidates will have considerable interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; a strong desire for continual learning; and work experience in applying federal, state, or contractual mandates.

Examples of duties:

  • Review and apply policies
  • Evaluate and research employee and supervisory concerns
  • Prepare reports and draft correspondence dealing with sensitive and confidential information
  • Leverage technology to analyze data, streamline procedures, and recommend solutions
  • Assist with supervisory training programs
  • Assist in the development of automated solutions to meet HRM program goals

Salary Range: $69,928 - $90,127/year plus State of Connecticut benefits.

New employees begin at the minimum. The starting salary for existing state employees may be higher than the minimum, in accordance with existing Judicial Branch policy.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: A Bachelor's or a Master's degree.*
*Note: Incumbents with a Master's degree may be hired at step 2 of the pay group.
