Job description

Gilead Community Servicesย is seeking a responsible and experiencedย Second Shift Supervisor to join our Community Transitional Residence (CTR) program.

About the position:

The Second Shift Supervisor for Gileadโ€™sย Meridenย adult program worksย 40 hours: Monday-Friday 3p-11p with flexibility required providing second shift administrative and clinical oversight of the Community Transitional Residence (CTR) program.ย  This is a 3-bed transitional program that is designed to provide clinical treatment and functional skills training tailored to the needs of adults with intellectual disabilities that are co-occurring with mental health and/or addiction treatment needs. The Second Shift Supervisor works in close consultation with the Program Director to ensure that the program produces high quality, recovery-oriented services to all clients, in accordance with agency standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Human Services Field with 3 yearsโ€™ supervisory experience required, or Masterโ€™s Degree with 2 yearsโ€™ experience.
  • Prior administrative and clinical experience in the field of mental health and developmental disabilities. ย Experience with addictions preferred.
  • Ability to manage under stressful or crisis situations.ย  Ability to problem solve.ย  Ability to meet deadlines and establish and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to travel to various agencies, businesses, institutions, and meet with clients in their homes, if needed.
  • Able to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends when necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides clinical knowledge regarding mental health and developmental disorders through supervision, staff training and education.
  • Supports the Residential Program Director in leading an effective program by implementing clinical services, best practice models of care and daily functions as required by contractual and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensures that the programโ€™s physical environment meets required regulations for a therapeutic residential setting, including a clean, safe, and home-like atmosphere.
  • Supports the processes for all contractual agreements and licensing regulations including but not limited to Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and Department of Social Services (DSS).
  • Maintains and implements the Recovery and Trauma informed philosophies with direct implications to staff, clients, family, and community development.
  • Applies clinical knowledge by assisting with timely admissions, continued services, and discharge processes for the program.
  • Supports and provides monitoring of positive outcome measures as defined by the license regulations and agency quality assurance processes. Ensures program compliance through the timely and accurate reporting of data both internally and externally as needed.ย 
  • Consults with the Residential Program Director, Psychiatrist, Clinician, Behavioral Specialist, Nurse and other team members regarding medical and mental health needs regarding risk management.
  • Responds to after-hours calls, for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed on a rotating on-call basis.
  • Provides support in hiring, training, supervision, evaluation and, if needed, discipline of subordinate employees of the program in accordance with agency personnel policies.ย 
  • Oversees the employee schedules, time off requests, and daily workflow management of the program.
