Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized HR Intern to support our Talent Acquisition (TA) team this summer. This internship provides hands-on experience in recruiting operations, candidate coordination, and onboarding while working closely with recruiters, hiring managers, and HR partners.
This role is ideal for someone interested in building a career in Human Resources or Talent Acquisition and gaining exposure to fast-paced recruiting environments.

Location & Duration
- Location: Downtown Chicago headquarter office, hybrid schedule
- Work hours: 40 hours per week
- Pay: $19 to $21 per hour
- Duration: Summer Internship (June–August)
Key Responsibilities
Interview Scheduling & Coordination
- Schedule and coordinate interviews across candidates, hiring teams, and panels
- Manage confirmations, reschedules, and cancellations while ensuring all parties are prepared
- Provide clear interview logistics, expectations, and materials
Offer & Pre-Hire Coordination
- Support offer letter preparation, approvals, and distribution
- Track offer statuses and communicate updates to stakeholders
- Coordinate pre-hire communications and onboarding handoffs
Background Check & Pre-Employment Processes
- Initiate and monitor background checks and drug screenings
- Follow up on outstanding items to ensure timely completion
- Communicate status updates and escalate discrepancies as needed
Onboarding & New Hire Administration
- Send onboarding materials and ensure completion of required documentation
- Coordinate orientation scheduling and new hire logistics, including welcome items
- Partner with HR and hiring managers to ensure start date readiness
Process Standardization & Operational Support
- Document recruiting workflows, templates, and best practices
- Identify and support improvements to streamline processes
- Help drive consistency in recruiting operations across teams/locations
Sourcing Support (as capacity allows)
- Assist with sourcing and pipeline building for key roles
- Conduct resume screening and candidate outreach under guidance
General Talent Acquisition Support
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to recruiters
- Assist with high-volume coordination needs and ensure timelines are met
- Help deliver a consistent and positive candidate experience
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word); familiarity with ATS systems is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-service mindset
