Job Description
**CONTRACT PENDING AWARD** The Engineering Aide (Intern) at the Potomac River Test Range (PRTR) will support engineering teams through a variety of tasks and responsibilities crucial to project success. This position performs a myriad of important functions that help streamline engineering processes and ensure that projects run efficiently and effectively. Duties and Responsibilities * Works closely with Data Acquisition and Analysis engineers, takes on tasks that range from administrative support to hands-on involvement in project planning and execution
* Assists Data Acquisition and Analysis engineers in designing, testing, and maintaining systems and equipment
* Collects and analyzes data, prepares reports and presentations
* Operates and maintains laboratory equipment and performs tests as directed
* Organizes and maintains engineering documents and records
* Provides technical support to other departments as required
* Assists with the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment
* Provides general administrative support to the engineering team as needed
* Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications* Current enrollment, in good standing, with an accredited college or university in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, essential for success in a T&E team environment
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
* Demonstrated ability to use common laboratory equipment and tools
* Proficiency in data entry and basic data analysis
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
* Prior experience working in a laboratory or field-test environment or with the concepts of T&E
* Familiarity with engineering standards and tools
Physical Qualifications
* The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment
* Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
* Must be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time
* Must be capable of lifting 25 lbs. unassisted

Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements
* Must be a U.S. Citizen
* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
* Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions
* Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
* Must be able to successfully complete a background check
* Must possess or be able to obtain an interim security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment
