Accounts Payable Specialist Job Description:

PrideStaff Financial is working with a premier organization who is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist. The Accounts Payable Specialist will manage vendor accounts, invoices, statements, reconciliations, and assist with forecasting.  The ideal Accounts Payable Specialist brings valuable and savvy knowledge of Accounts Payable, the general ledger, journal entries, and possesses Accounts Payable experience with government, public, or utility agencies.  The Accounts Payable Specialist position is a full time, temp to hire position in Roseville, CA. 


Accounts Payable Specialist Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Set up & Maintain Vendor Accounts With 3-Way Matching of Invoices, PO’s, & Receiving Documents 
  • Manage Vendor Statements,  Sub-Ledgers, General Ledger Reconciliation, & Journal Entries 
  • Assist With Cash Forecasting, ACH/Wire Processing, Positive Pay Uploads, & Cash Account Reconciliations 
  • Drive Electronic PO Processing & Efficiently Resolve System Exceptions 
  • Prepare & Distribute Key Recurring Financial Reports to Keep The Leadership Team Informed 


Accounts Payable Specialist Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • 3+ Years of Accounts Payable, General Ledger, & Account Reconciliation Experience Required
  • Proficient With Excel & Navigating Electronic PO Workflows 
  • Demonstrates an Eye For Details & a Knack For Exception Resolution 
  • Previous Experience With a Public Agency, Utility, or Governmental Accounting Highly Desirable 
  • Excellent Written & Verbal Communication Skills
