Senior Accounts Payable Specialist Job Description:

PrideStaff is working with an established manufacturing and distribution company seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join its team. The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist will oversee the full accounts payable process and ensure daily accounting activities are completed accurately and efficiently. The ideal Senior Accounts Payable Specialist is detail-oriented, has strong analytical skills, and can manage high-volume invoice processing. The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist is a full-time, temp-to-hire position in Kansas City, KS. 


Senior Accounts Payable Specialist Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the complete Accounts Payable Process
  • Process, Code & Review a Large Quantity of Vendor Invoices Accurately & Timely
  • Verify & Ensure Invoice Details are Correct, Including Proper Cost Allocations & 3-Way Match Requirements & Obtain Required Approvals Before Processing
  • Use Sage X3 Accounting Software to Process Vendor Invoices
  • Work with Other Company Locations & AP Team to Research & Resolve any Invoice & Payment Discrepancies
  • Assist, Mentor & Train Colleagues with AP-Related ERP Systems & Document Management System Updates
  • Reconcile Supplier Statements & Resolve Issues
  • Investigate & Resolve Designated General Ledger Accounts
  • Perform Month-End &  Audit-Related Activities and Maintain Accurate Records
  • Additional Accounting & Departmental Tasks as Assigned 


 Senior Accounts Payable Specialist Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • Experience in  Accounts Payable, General Ledger, & Account Reconciliation Required
  • Proficient With Microsoft Excel 
  • Familiarity With ERP Systems is Preferred
  • Proficiency With Accounting Systems is Required; Sage X3 is Preferred
  • Excellent Written & Verbal Communication Skills are a Must
  • Must Have Excellent Attention to Detail, Accuracy, Time Management & Organizational Skills
