Job description

Job Title: Accounting Clerk

Location: Albuquerque, NM

Job Summary

Bohannan Huston is currently seeking a full-time Accounting Clerk with an initial focus on Accounts Payable to work in our Albuquerque, NM office.

As an Accounting Clerk you would be exposed to the entire life cycle of our projects, from initial contract review to billing and collection through project closure as well as other functions like payments to suppliers and subconsultants.

Your Role & Responsibilities

Initially the key duties and responsibilities would include:

  • Supplier invoice review
  • Subconsultant invoice review and contract compliance (from an administrative perspective)
  • Payment generation
  • Prepaid schedule maintenance
  • General ledger review

Other opportunities might include:

  • Contract review – project initiation to close-out.
  • Project set up and maintenance (in BST)
  • Billing and collections
  • Provide backup payroll processing in UltiPro
  • Other duties as assigned

Who You Are

  • You are proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • You have experience using general ledger/accounting systems (we utilize the following systems and while experience with them is not a requirement, it will be viewed favorably).
    • BST 11 for GL, AP, AR, and project maintenance
    • Creative Solutions for fixed asset management
    • UKG for HR and Payroll functions
  • You have experience with contracts (in general), contract types, and contracting vocabulary.
    • Knowledge of funding through federal, state, & local municipality mechanisms is preferred
  • You have an aptitude to learn and are highly detail oriented.
  • You have strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout the company.
  • You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • You have the willingness to take initiative.
  • You have 3-5 years' experience in bookkeeping and general accounting duties.
  • You have a high school diploma with post-secondary accounting coursework preferred.
  • You have strong Customer Service Skills.
