Position Summary
Performs a variety of routine day-to-day operations related to ledger entries, account reconciliation, and other accounting and office duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Journal entry preparation and entry.
2. Processing and batching high volume of cash receipts and bank deposits.
3. Enters cash transactions in ledger and reconciles cash reports.
4. Preparation of spreadsheets for financial analysis.
5. Data entry into Banner and nonprofit ledger software.
6. Running Queries for reports.
7. Printing Hyperion reports and querying Banner.
8. Ensures strict confidentiality of financial records, in compliance with federal and state patient privacy legislation.
9. Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
10. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

- Freshman/Sophomore students preferred
- Current UNM student enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours
- Major or coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Basic understanding of accounting/financial principles
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Clear and friendly communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to take initiative and help problem-solve when needed
- Comfort with basic computer programs (Microsoft Office, email, etc.)
