GENERAL SUMMARY

Serves as a Branch President in the Credit Union branch setting. The primary responsibility is to provide excellent service by demonstrating the principals of SouthPoint Financial Credit Union and adhering to the vision of “Empowering People to Enhance Lives”. The Branch President will be responsible for serving as the credit union’s community relations and business to business development representative in SouthPoint’s key markets by actively identifying, cultivating, and conducting outreach to prospective members and employer partners to increase membership growth, product penetration and develop new business relationships for the credit union. Friendly, professional and personal service toward all SouthPoint Financial Credit Union members is mandatory. The Branch President will oversee all activities of the business development for the market meeting goals related to loan and deposit growth, mission fulfilment, drive continuous improvement, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Maintains high visibility and a positive image in the field of membership, with current and prospective members. Builds positive relationships with businesses and community leaders by actively participating in community relations efforts to contribute to the mission and visibility of SouthPoint Financial Credit Union in surrounding communities.
  2. Works with branch staff on initiatives to increase market share in communities served by the credit union.
  3. Attends various meetings in the local and surrounding communities and or trade associations to develop new business prospects and promote the credit union.
  4. Implement and maintain an effective sales management process that produces and supports proactive activity to promote credit union products and services, as well as subsidiary divisions, to members and non-members.
  5. Research the demographics of the areas in which the credit union operates, determine the population groups served by the credit union.
  6. Responsible for establishing individual performance goals and the tracking and monitoring of those goals as they relate to the overall performance of the credit union.
  7. Cultivates new and maintains existing relationships for all facets of corporate sponsorship with individual members, chamber organizations, area employers, auto dealers, RV/boat and motorcycle dealers, realtors, etc.
  8. Identifies, develops and promotes additional business, by negotiating meaningful access to new businesses. Maintains schedule to ensure adequate follow up via site visits, telephone, letters, emails etc.
  9. Develops plans and promotional strategies to meet business development goals; coordinates participation in representing the credit union at various functions, and community related events.
  10. Are responsible for developing and carrying out strategies to achieve branch and corporate goals as determined by the strategic team. Success of the credit union is highly dependent upon the initiatives put in place by the Branch President.
  11. Carries out major assignments of matters of significance in conducting the operations of the business.
  12. Create short-term business strategies to help increase memberships and core products usage.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Develops and maintains personal relationships with credit union members to the greatest degree possible; manages member complaints, providing special attention in unique and high-value cases.
  2. Represent and promote the credit union at external functions. Attend meetings, conferences, seminars, and training courses relating to work areas.
  3. Ensures compliance with laws, regulations, standards, and best practices including completion and maintenance of documentation and records.
  4. Serve as backup for other jobs and perform all other duties as assigned. Attend meetings, seminar, conferences, and training course related to work.
  5. Abide by all Bank Secrecy Act responsibilities for this job role.

  1. This high contact position requires the ability to communicate effectively with current and prospective members as well as the positive promotion and representation of our Credit Union brand.
  2. Highly organized, self-motivated and self-managed, including setting personal goals.
  3. Excellent analytical and decision making skills, attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness.
  4. Able to work under pressure, to process multiple tasks concurrently with a high degree of accuracy, and able to interact and maintain a positive attitude under challenging circumstances.
  5. Demonstrated ability to solicit business and enhance member relationships through outbound member contact

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  1. Requires knowledge of the Credit Union's policies, procedures, programs, products and services as they relate to branch operations.
  2. Requires intermediate mathematical skills (calculations and concepts involving percentages, fractions, decimals, etc.).
  3. Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance or related field and minimum of 5 years of progressive experience or the equivalent in a credit union or other related financial institution or business environment.
  1. Strong leadership skills with a positive, results oriented attitude, with a desire for innovation.
  2. Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills and customer service skills necessary for communicating with members, employees and vendors on Credit Union related matters.
  3. Knowledge of applicable State and Federal regulations, standard loan products in the business and consumer lending industry, risk analysis, reviewing credit reports, Fair Credit Reporting and Fair Debt Collection Practices, Truth-in-Lending Regulations Z, E & B, and RESPA.
  4. Requires knowledge of Credit Union commercial and agricultural lending procedures, consumer lending practices, and credit granting criteria.
  5. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, high attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness, ability to work under pressure, to process multiple tasks concurrently with a high degree of accuracy, and a self-starter who can exercise independent judgment when addressing problems.
  6. Excellent organizational skills; math and typing skills; good reasoning ability and problem-solving skills.
  7. Excellent typing and computer skills, including core operating system, Microsoft Office Suite, or related software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Sitting and standing
  2. Working at a computer as necessary throughout the workday
  3. Utilizing the phone 50-60%
  4. Bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, or crouching when appropriate, on occasion
  5. Repetitive movements, including but not limited to typing, using a mouse, phones, etc.
  6. Occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to approximately twenty-five pounds

WORKING CONDITIONS

  1. Works in a typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting.
  2. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
