Engineering Project Manager

SAPA Transmission is seeking an Engineering Project Manager, experienced in the Defense industry, to join our team in Shelby Twp, MI. The candidate must have the ability to maintain leadership and independently manage multiple projects concurrently. The Engineering Project Manager will have experience with project coordination and control, and be able to demonstrate success in optimizing productivity and project success from inception to completion.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinates all technical aspects of the project to meet cost, scope, schedule, design, quality commitments, and risk mitigation within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer to ensure program goals are achieved.
• Liaison between program management and the engineering organization.
• Serve as the primary technical interface for internal and external customers.
• Conduct effective meetings and reviews with both internal and external customers.
• Manage Earned Value Management Projects.
• Prepare and support bids for requests of information, quotes, or proposal efforts.
• Support negotiation of requirements, scope, and deliverables.
• Brief senior leadership routinely on execution status.
• Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in engineering. Other degrees will be considered with relevant experience.
• PMI certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or other related field preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience in a project management role in the defense industry.
• Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills.
• Has a firm working knowledge of EVMS and MS Suite of tools (project, word, excel, etc.).
• Demonstrated experience managing project P&L / Financial commitments.
• Proven ability to manage project scope, develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
• Experience in developing Basis of Estimates (BOE), Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), and resource requirements matrix.
