The La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club is currently seeking a Painter to join our team at our beautiful oceanfront property!

Schedule: Full Time, Varied Shifts, typically 8am-4:30pm

Pay Range: $23/hr

SUMMARY

Coordinates and controls special painting projects under the direct supervision of the Engineering Supervisor and/or Engineering Manager. Maintains inventory of paint and painting supplies. Framing, and drywall/stucco installation/repair and texturing to match adjacent surfaces. Brushes or sprays paint to cover scratches, chips, or repairs in painted finish of items such as walls, floors, walkways, cabinets, doors, or shelves by performing the following duties. Promotes and follows LJBTC, Inc.'s Signature Service standards and requirements ensuring a lasting impression of exemplary service resulting in supremely satisfied and loyal members and guests.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Ensures quality control and work standards are maintained and regularly updated to meet changing department and property needs.

  • Maintains inventories of paint and painting supplies.

  • Repair and replacement of framing, drywall, concrete and stucco. Matches textures and finishes of surface to adjacent surfaces.

  • Builds new framing and installs drywall as needed for special projects.

  • Cleans and prepares surface for painting.

  • Applies even coat of finish material, such as paint, stain or lacquer, to sanded area.

  • Sprays lacquer or thinner material over finished coats to blend in spots and eliminate halo around repair. Paints chipped spots with brush.

  • Mixes and applies epoxy coatings.

  • Compares color of paint supply with color chart and work piece and remixes it to match standard colors. Maintains spray-painting equipment.

  • Maintains records of paints used in different areas.

  • Repairs surface to receive paint or stain.

  • Sets an example for co-workers by meeting and exceeding their performance requirements of the job and maintaining good work habits (punctuality, reliability).

  • Other duties may be assigned.



OUTCOME

The overall maintenance of the guest room and the facilities influence guest and co-employee impression of the total organization. Clean, well-maintained guest rooms, facilities and equipment will contribute to guest comfort and satisfaction.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, interpret and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to customers, guests, and other employees of the organization. The employee must have the ability to effectively communicate in English.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

SCHEDULING

This company operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Shifts will generally be rotated unless you were hired for a specific shift, as much as possible to be fair to everyone. At times it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed shift if business or task assignments demand. In addition, it should be understood that business needs determine the number of hours that you work.
