Apex Entertainment is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our team and contribute to our commitment to exceptional guest service. As an Assistant Kitchen Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and directing the daily operations of the kitchen and function areas, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency are upheld.

Job Description:

Leadership and Supervision: Directly supervise and manage a team of 5-25 employees, guiding and supporting them in their roles to ensure excellence.
Operational Excellence: Maintain accurate daily food logs and ensure consistent preparation and service of food products according to the restaurant's standards.
Line Check and Sanitation: Oversee the completion of line checks at the start of each shift, enforcing sanitary practices for food handling and kitchen cleanliness.
Staff Performance: Manage employee performance, providing constructive feedback and necessary discipline, while fostering continuous improvement.
Event Coordination: Assist in organizing private events, acting as a liaison between Events and Operations for seamless execution.
Training and Development: Foster the growth of kitchen staff by promoting their professional and managerial development.
Supplies and Inventory: Ensure proper receiving of products, efficient purchasing of supplies, and control portion quantities to minimize waste.
Communication and Collaboration: Work collaboratively with managers and suppliers to maintain effective communication and streamlined operations.

Requirements:

Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with a diverse team.
Leadership Skills: Exhibit strong leadership and people management abilities, promoting a positive and motivated team environment.
Problem Solving: Effective problem-solving skills to address changes in circumstances and maintain operational efficiency.
Professionalism: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor, representing the organization positively to employees, guests, and vendors.
Flexibility: Adaptability to change and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in the food and beverage and/or hospitality industry.
MS Office Proficiency: Proficient in using MS Office applications for effective communication and organization.
Transportation: Must have a valid driver's license or reliable transportation.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for 8-10 hours and perform various tasks in a dynamic kitchen environment.
