A private family of three is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and service-oriented Private Chef & Household Operations Coordinator to oversee daily meal preparation and support select household operations across their residences in New York City, Los Angeles, and Amagansett.

This role is ideal for a culinary professional who excels at creating delicious, nutrient-focused meals tailored to multiple dietary needs. The successful candidate will be skilled in preparing both plant-based cuisine and specialized meals that support medically prescribed or therapeutic dietary protocols, including low-histamine, low-sodium, and gluten-free requirements, while maintaining exceptional standards of flavor, presentation, and consistency.

The family is seeking a long-term team member who is proactive, adaptable, discreet, and comfortable working within a private household environment. The ideal candidate will bring a hospitality mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and a genuine passion for helping others live well through food.

Primary ResponsibilitiesCulinary Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and serve daily meals for a family of three people (and two big friendly dogs)
  • Develop creative and varied menus that accommodate:
    • Plant-based dietary preferences
    • Low-histamine dietary requirements
    • Low-sodium protocols
    • Gluten-free meal preparation
  • Source premium ingredients from trusted local vendors, farmers markets, and specialty purveyors
  • Manage grocery shopping, pantry inventory, kitchen organization, and food-related household budgets
  • Prepare healthy snacks, beverages, and occasional meals for guests
  • Maintain the highest standards of kitchen cleanliness, food safety, and organization
  • Stay informed on nutritional best practices and specialized dietary cooking techniques
Household Operations Coordination
  • Support the smooth day-to-day operation of household food and kitchen services
  • Coordinate deliveries, vendors, and related service providers
  • Maintain household inventories and ordering systems related to kitchen and household supplies
  • Assist with scheduling and logistics related to food service and household operations
  • Communicate effectively with family members and other household staff to ensure seamless execution of daily needs
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a private chef, personal chef, executive chef, or in a comparable role within a private household
  • Demonstrated expertise in plant-based cuisine and specialized dietary meal preparation
  • Experience with medically prescribed or therapeutic diets required; experience with low-histamine protocols strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of gluten-free and low-sodium meal preparation
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
