 About the Position

Groome Industrial Service Group is seeking a Fan Field Representative.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Perform equipment inspections, technical walkdowns, and troubleshooting to diagnose issues and deliver effective solutions.
  • Utilize tools such as vibration analysis and laser alignment equipment to support testing, balancing, and equipment reliability.
  • Complete and submit service reports, expense reports, and time sheets accurately and on-time.
  • Support customer responsiveness by participating in service calls, identifying issues, and recommending solutions aligned with Groome's capabilities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Sales, and Operations to support customer needs and service execution.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services or equipment and communicate leads to Sales to support business growth.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards, reporting incidents, or near misses.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending enhancements to processes, service delivery, and customer response times.
  • Frequent travel to customer sites, up to 90% within North America.
  • Work in industrial environments such as manufacturing facilities, plants, and customer sites.
  • Exposure to varying conditions including noise, heat, confined spaces, heights, and customer sites.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and work with tools and equipment as needed.
  • Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and performing hands-on technical work.
  • Adherence to all PPE requirements and site-specific safety protocols.
  • Experience with large industrial centrifugal fans required; experience with axial fans is highly desirable.
  • Field balancing experience preferred.

What does it take to work for Groome Industrial? 

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
  • 10+ years of hands-on technical experience in field service, maintenance, manufacturing, or a related environment focusing on centrifugal and axial fans
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience working on industrial or rotating equipment.
  • Familiarity with alignment, balancing, and general maintenance practices preferred.
  • Basic electrical knowledge (motors, controls, etc.) is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of bearings, couplings, and dampers.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable completing digital service reports.
  • Ability to work independently in the field and manage changing priorities and personnel.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and adapt to varying work environments
