Donor Engagement Manager 


We are hiring a Donor Engagement Manager to support our fundraising and volunteer engagement efforts. The Donor Engagement Manager will devise and implement development and fundraising strategies to meet the organization's short—and long-term needs. Moreover, the candidate will communicate our programs, client stories, and funding needs to external partners to solicit donations and meet annual fundraising goals. We seek a candidate with experience managing fundraising initiatives/campaigns. 


This role reports directly to the Sr. Director of External Relations and will work collaboratively with the development, finance, marketing, operations, and programming team. 


Location:  This is an in-person position at our North Huntingdon headquarters.  Although this is not a remote role, we allow for remote flexibility; therefore, a hybrid experience will be considered if applicable.  Standard office hours are M-F from 8:30 to 4:30 p.m. Evening and weekend commitments as they present themselves. (Donor events, networking engagements, etc.)

Compensation: $55,000-$62,000 (depending on experience)

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising with a demonstrated track record of success in individual giving, event planning, major gifts, and corporate partnerships.
  • Experience working in a data-driven fundraising environment, with the ability to analyze and interpret fundraising data to inform strategy and decision-making
  • Familiarity with fundraising and volunteer management software and marketing/design tools 
  • Experience supporting volunteer management initiatives is preferred 
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate campaign and donor stewardship effectiveness and propose solutions.
  • Team player, accountable, flexible, and diplomatic
  • High energy level, strong sense of initiative, enthusiasm, diplomacy, professionalism, transparency, accountability, flexibility, and discretion.
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills, empathy, and strong listening skills. The candidate must excel in networking and public engagement events/experiences and enjoy the art of storytelling, relationship building, and the authentic ask.

  • An ability to authentically represent the brand and a genuine desire to raise funds to help celebrate and strengthen families in Southwestern PA.

  • Obtain all required clearances (PA State Police, FBI Fingerprinting, Child Abuse)


Position Overview 

Beverly's development and marketing team focuses its fundraising efforts on five revenue categories: direct public support (individual and corporate), contractual funding, grant/foundation support, events, and in-kind. We work collaboratively as a team, but each individual has a lane of responsibility. The organization must raise $2.8 million annually to support its operating needs. 


Donor Engagement Manager Responsibilities:


  • Serve as the managing lead for individual donor stewardship initiatives, including individual giving and volunteerism.  This includes managing all giving campaigns (raffles, holiday virtual events, end-of-year giving, crowdfunding, etc.), new donor solicitation, major donor cultivation, family trusts, estate planning, new donor prospecting, lapsed donors, and our birthday buddy initiative. 
    • Qualifying, developing, and maintaining year-round relationships with individual gift donors or prospects to grow immediate funding, long-term funding, and planned gifts.
    • Creating individual engagement, stewardship plans, and giving goals for each donor based on their giving history, relationship, and the organization’s knowledge of their giving potential.
  • Work in partnership with our accounting/office administrator to process gifts. 
  • Utilize the organization's CRM system and serve as the organization's go-to for donor data. The organization utilizes VIRTUOUS and VOMO, and training academies will be provided.
  • Work strategically with the senior director of External Relations and the programming team to implement volunteer recruitment and management strategies to ensure the organization has a strong volunteer base to support its programs and activities. We embrace the notion that volunteers are donors, and therefore, we are always working to steward their experience. (Time, talent, and treasure). 
  • Leverage experience and network to help garner new opportunities for Beverly's
  • Utilzing data to drive decision making, offer new ideas to continually enhance and intuitively respond to donors' interests and needs 
  • Support our senior director of External Relations with all large-scale event initiatives, including, but not limited to, our annual gala, golf outing, and holiday events. 
    • Donation/sponsorship solicitation
    • Event planning details/coordination
    • Design/Ticketing needs/etc. 
  • Support the Sr. Director of External Relations with all corporate partnership engagement and solicitation. This includes networking events, prospecting, attending industry-specific engagement events, and being committed to following trends in corporate giving. 
  • Attend fundraising and development training, seminars, webinars, etc., and share best practices 
  • Work collaboratively with the Grant and Special Projects Manager, when appropriate to support any foundation or contractual needs.
  • Work collaboratively with our Executive Director and Marketing and Brand consultant to ensure we have the appropriate digital and print needs for all donor engagement campaigns.
