Job Description

JOB PURPOSE: The Project Engineer will manage the equipment sales team’s post order fulfillment duties and services for applied HVAC equipment sales.

Employment at Will: Nothing herein is intended to create a contract of employment or to guarantee employment for a definite duration. 

PROJECT ENGINEER ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS:

ORGANIZES CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS byaccepting new projects from the equipment sales team; participating in submittal preparation, review, approvals; collecting andcompleting all needed project documentation; analyzingconstruction project timelines; understanding projectrequirements, collaborating with the equipment sales team and the purchasing contractor on project milestones and timelines.

COORDINATES WITH INSTALLING CONTRACTORS byreviewing project information, communicating project timelineinformation; prioritizing areas of completion; answeringquestions to assure proper installation; promoting properinstallation methods; verify completion of projectdocumentation.

COORDINATES WITH EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS bycommunicating required features, capacities, performance requirements, installation best practices with installing contractors.By communicating technical questions from installing contractors, commissioning agents, design engineers, and owner/operators with factory product subject matter experts and delivering complete technical answers to the project site team.

COORDINATES THE RELEASE AND ORDER OF PROJECT EQUIPMENT bycompleting proper equipment release and shipping documents. Coordinating the delivery of material, scheduling delivery of material with site needs; communicatingwith customer as to necessary staging and storage of equipment.

BILLS CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS bycollaborating with Administration for the proper creation ofbilling; coordinating with customer for needed billingrequirements.

COMMUNICATES PROJECT INFORMATION bycommunicating as needed with sales team, updating and maintaining trackers with critical project information, updating project deadline information; advising as to any changes inschedule or change orders; prices and directs change ordersas needed.

ACHIEVES FINANCIAL OBJECTIVES bycollaborating with sales team by reviewing monthlyjob costs reports; initiating corrective actions as directed.

MAINTAINS INDUSTRY TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE byattending approved educational workshops; reviewingindustry publications; maintaining knowledge on proper equipment installation methods; maintaining knowledge of projectmanagement issues.

MENTORING LESS SENIOR PROJECT MANAGERS byassisting in the recruiting and training of new employees (asneeded); sharing technical knowledge; sharing installationknowledge.

CONTRIBUTES TO TEAM SUCCESS by continuously improving how we deliver projects, leading by example; maintaining an open and positive attitude;preparing for and attending job progress review meetings;accomplishing related results as needed.

WILLINGNESS AND ABILITY TO TRAVEL bycooperating and understanding the importance high profilecustomers with locations in multiple regions and recognizes asense of urgency with those needs. Participates as required visits to project sites and equipment manufacturing locations. Up to 15% travel.
