Job Title: Assistant Program Director, Oahu Family Peace Center

Location/Work Status: Honolulu, Hawaii with flexible work environment (Must be able to meet face-to-face with clients, families, staff, and community partners when appropriate)

Job Type: Full Time, Exempt

Compensation: $6,120.00 / month with competitive benefits package

Summary of Program and Position:

The goal of the Oahu Family Peace Center is to bring peace to Hawaii’s families by offering and environment that promotes safety, support, and accountability to offenders, survivors, and their children. Oahu FPC has been conducting domestic violence counseling for over 25 years and offers a comprehensive community-based program that includes prevention and intervention services.

The Assistant Program Director participates in the overall management of the Family Peace Center Programs through planning, implementation, oversight, and reporting tasks as assigned by the Executive Vice President. The Assistant Program Director further supervises the delivery of culturally inclusive, trauma informed, and strengths-based services for offenders, survivors, and child witnesses of domestic violence.

This position is also responsible for program and contract performance, monitoring and reporting, performance, and quality improvement activities, general program administration, and facilities, as assigned. The Assistant Program Director will serve as back up in the absence of the Executive Vice President. This position is under the direct supervision of the Executive Vice President.

Essential Functions:

  1. Behaves in a manner that supports the agency’s mission and follows personnel policies and procedures.
  2. Plans, administers, provides oversight, monitors, and evaluates assigned services and programs. Keeps the Executive Vice President informed about the status of assigned programs and services. Ensures all intakes and assessments are being assigned timely and appropriately. Provides clinical and supervisory back-up support to Program Supervisors and teams.
  3. Coordinates and ensures the appropriate delivery of culturally inclusive, trauma informed, and strengths-based services for offenders, survivors, and child witnesses of domestic violence. Monitors the quality of services to all clients and provides direct services to clients when needed.
  4. Ensures that program objectives are met, including fiscal requirements, and that reports for accountability are submitted in a timely manner to the Executive Vice President.
  5. Provides leadership to all FPC staff and assumes all the responsibilities of a supervisor for the staff reporting directly and indirectly to the position including orienting and training new staff as needed. Coaches and participates in performance management for all staff.
  6. Ensures that programs are operating in a manner consistent with standards and guidelines established by funders, regulations, and the policies and procedures of the agency and program and that program practices and intervention strategies are rooted in current best practice principles.
  7. Develops and maintains effective working relationships with funders, collaborators, state agencies, other service providers and related groups, attending required trainings and meetings as appropriate.
  8. Works in conjunction with the Executive Vice President to implement, analyze, and evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs and to devise strategies for improvement. Ensures that the Program’s quality activities support the agency’s Performance and Quality Improvement Plan.

Education / Training:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Psychology, or a Human Services field required. Master’s Degree, preferred.

Experience:

  1. Two (2) years’ experience in supervision of management personnel, required.
  2. Three (3) years direct service experience in a social service setting required.
  3. Experience in a management or administrative capacity involving grant writing, fiscal management, and program planning, highly desired.

Other:

  1. Must be 18 years old.
  2. Possesses and maintains a valid driver’s license.
  3. Has daily access to an automobile.
  4. Possesses and maintains proof of no-fault insurance.
  5. Must have a cell phone for use in emergencies at off-site locations.
