Job Description

I have a full-time role as a hands-on IT Security Manager in Cranston RI for one of our top tier clients. This role will need someone who wants to grow with the organization and eventually lead a team

This role will be hybrid, 3days onsite, 2day work from home

It does come with a very generous base salary and employee benefits package.

Responsibilities:

  • Stay current with latest industry trends and security advancements. Make annual recommendations that align with the budgeting cycle on security related investments.
  • Own the company security program that continuously assesses risk and determines mitigation and work with MSP to determine strategy.
  • Research, recommend and execute on selection of security related hardware and software purchases. Oversee product implementation and report on progress to area VP.
  • Create and maintain documented security standards, protocols and controls used by all lines of business.
  • Work with company internal audit and compliance areas as needed to ensure the company maintains good standing with SOC1, SOC2 and other regulatory and required certifications
  • Participate in, track and maintain compliance with all security related initiatives. Ensure the company has a proactive stance in planning and execution of security projects.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of security technologies such as firewall, Zero Trust, CASB, SSO, OWASP. Maintain the ability to have hands-on administrative knowledge of core security technologies.
  • Review and oversee security aspects of business-driven projects. Ensure good security principles and standards are adhered to during the requirements and design phase and test compliance during QA testing.
  • Participate in the annual disaster recovery exercises, oversee the exercise from a company risk perspective. Support the area IT manager as needed to complete the exercise.
  • Working with Compliance, investigate any information breaches or security incidence. Determine root cause and oversee corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Review and approve access request to company systems and data, maintain logs for audit purposes.
  • Administer and lead discussion for the company's data privacy and protection committee. Maintain reporting, minutes and decisions made by the committee.
  • Work closely with MSP to maintain top security performance
  • 5+ years security experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent work experience
  • Effective Communication Skills
  • This role must be able to translate technology operational needs into business context. This role interacts with complex back office technologies and must be able to simplify complexity into practical business terms.
  • Solid Technical Skills
  • As a leader in security , this role is looked to as the decision maker for complex infrastructure solutions. A mature background in data center operations helps put decisions into context.
  • Critical Thinking
  • The data center is the technical heart of the operation; this role must constantly assess and balance technical advancements and changes with stability and risk mitigation.
  • Organized and Disciplined
  • The ability to maintain an  stay organized . The person in this role must be prepared at all time to react to various risk; security threats, hardware failures and unforeseen outages.
