The Ad Sales Marketing Director (full-time, salaried, regular) will lead in the strategic development of custom, advertiser supported programs across MotorTrend Group. This includes collaborating closely with various internal departments, sales, media, social, events, branded content, and editorial teams for the purpose of developing custom integrated marketing programs. The Marketing Director will be responsible for connecting advertising partners' objectives to MotorTrend Group's proposed strategies, concepts, and overall activation with the audience. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading development of breakthrough cross-platform programs for MotorTrend Group clients connecting client objectives to proposed strategy, concept, and activation across MotorTrend Group portfolio of brans, platforms and assets:
    • Building proposals and RFP responses.
    • Leading in creative brainstorming in the development of custom integrated programs.
    • Developing unique and compelling content and branded content ideas that can be strategically packaged for client goals.
    • Development and management of proposal pricing and profitability.
    • Development of sales materials including PowerPoint decks including, but not limited to, MotorTrend Group presentations, general presentation, digital upfronts and sale one-sheets.
    • Supporting the development of strategic partnerships across MotorTrend Group.
    • Development of strategic sales programs and the Marketing collateral to promote them. o Assisting sales with client-specific proposals and/or presentations.
    • Working closely with Marketing Research to leverage audience data to develop strategic approaches and recommendations.
  • Assisting in the development of sold programs. Including, but not limited to:
    • Liaising with the Marketing Project Management team throughout execution phase of program.
    • Providing support in the creative and development of sold client programs.

 

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position will not include supervising employees.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • Directly relatable experience within ad sales marketing, media and enthusiasm for the automotive category.
  • 8+ years' experience with Advertising and/or Marketing.
  • 8+ years' experience with Social/Digital/Online Media/Technology

  • Aptitude for analyzing and synthesizing research data, with the ability to build strategic stories.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint, excel and word.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to sit for prolonged period of time and view computer screen.

 

Equipment/Software Used:

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

 

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in an office environment that is well lit and ventilated.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be performed in California. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of MotorTrend's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $70,000.00 - $130,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, MotorTrend provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
