Introduction:
The Yakutat Tlingit Tribe is seeking professional consulting services to evaluate and apply for significant upcoming grant opportunities that support renewable energy and infrastructure projects. This RFP invites experienced grant writers and researchers to assess the alignment of our solar project and other renewable energy initiatives with the following funding opportunities:
- Communities Sparking Investment in Transformative Energy (C-SITE): This Department of Energy (DOE) program offers funding to implement high-impact clean energy projects in communities, including federally recognized Indian Tribes. Grants range from $900,000 to $3,600,000.
Other grants may be identified by the grant writer such as Bureau of Indian Affairs grants that will be announced in May 2024, or future grant opportunities that align with the deliverable of renewable energy development. To move forward with other grant opportunities Tribal Council must pass a resolution supporting an application.
Project Scope:
The selected consultant will be responsible for two primary tasks:
- Prepare and submit comprehensive grant applications for all identified opportunities with collaboration with YTT Staff and partners of the Yakutat Tlingit Tribe.
Deliverables:
- Complete grant applications for each opportunity identified.
Proposal Requirements:
Proposals must include:
- Methodology for both the evaluation of grant suitability and the development of applications.
- Proposed timeline and milestones for deliverables.
- Qualifications of the team member(s), highlighting experiences with similar projects.
- At least one reference from past client, preferably from similar projects involving energy grants or tribal entities.
- Detailed budget that includes all costs associated with the scope of work.
Submission Guidelines:
- Proposals must be submitted electronically on BambooHR no later than May 15th, 2024.
- Proposals should be prepared as single PDF documents, not exceeding 10 pages.
Evaluation Criteria:
Proposals will be evaluated based on 100 points:
- Relevance of proposed methodology to the goals of the Yakutat Tlingit Tribe (20 PTS).
- Experience and track record of the proposer in securing and managing grants for similar projects (30 PTS).
- Completeness and professionalism of the proposal (20 PTS).
- Cost-effectiveness of the proposed budget (10 PTS).
- References and demonstrated success in similar projects (20 PTS).

Additional points will be granted for Tribal Member, Alaska Native/ Native American, and Women Owned Entity
