Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Communication Specialist to join our team. As a Communication Specialist, you will assist in communicating programs through written materials, graphic design, social media messaging, and website content.
Responsibilities:
-Creating consistent branding across printed publications, websites, promotions, digital communications, and social media.
- Maintaining company websites via a content management system.
- Writing press releases, correspondence, and materials for websites, social media, newsletters, promotions, and the annual report.
- Developing and designing creative graphics, promotional materials, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Managing social media presence, including content curation, development, and responses to customer comments.
- Using online bulk email service to create and distribute e-newsletters, promotions, and announcements.
- Maintaining manuals, fillable PDF forms, and program documents.
- Coordinating timely publication of legally required notices with newspapers.
- Preparing minutes of Board meetings and public hearings.
- Photography and videography as needed
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of six months to two years of similar or related work experience, or relevant education.
- College degree required preferably in journalism, communications, English, public relations or advertising or relevant experience.
- Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to multitask and work independently; tact and good judgment in dealing with various publics, media outlets, association personnel, and fellow employees; experience in Adobe Creative Cloud, graphic and web design, social media management and content production, photography, and videography.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Typical physical demands include: a high degree of manual dexterity to sufficiently perform computer functions on a keyboard, produce materials on a PC, operate basic office equipment, normal or corrected vision and hearing, extensive sitting and/or walking, mobility sufficient to visit with departments or employees throughout the office and lift up to 25 lbs.
