Operations Specialist I

The Operations Specialist I is a full-time technician who will perform in-shop repairs on commercial food service equipment and assist in field service calls within the Tri-State Area. The position is with Pronto Repairs, A Tech24 company located in Tappan, NY. Pronto Repairs is a small, dynamic repair company who is in search of an experienced technician to work in our kitchen appliance shop and deliver repaired units. This position requires knowledge of service and repair techniques involving diagnosing and correcting malfunctions of most equipment. Starting rate of pay is between $25 and $35 per hour, based on experience. 50% of the position will be spent in the office and the other 50% will be spent in the field.

Duties:

• Participating in the day-to-day running of the shop.
• Receiving deliveries, unpacking and re-shelving or storing stock.
• Problem diagnosis including electrical/mechanical and electronics troubleshooting. Must be able to be innovative and use common sense to remedy a situation so the customer may resume operations.
• Maintain frequent contact with the office to receive service assignments and review service problems with supervisor or manager.
• Maintain working knowledge of latest modifications, retrofit, etc. for equipment assigned to service.
• Assist others on equipment installations or in performing major repair assignments.
• Maintain a working knowledge of parts stocking and identification methods, practices and procedures.
• Responsible for inventory and a professional appearance of the shop repair area.
• Satisfactorily complete factory schools and audio/visual field training as required.
• Comply with all service policies and procedures of the company and its customers.
• Maintain personal image to meet or exceed company standards.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Electrical experience (1 year required)
• A basic understanding of electric, steam, gas and plumbing.
• Mechanically inclined
• This job will require you to pass a background check
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Work well under pressure and ability to meet deadlines
• Works well in team driven environment
• Exceptional multi-tasking skills
• Previous experience in the HVAC and/or food service industry is a plus
• Exceptional verbal, and written communication as well as problem solving skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team setting
• Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
• Exceptional organization and attention to detail
• Engage in a safety-driven work environment
• Dependable and honest professional
• Must be motivated, a self-starter, and able to follow through on duties and assignments with minimal supervision

Physical Demands:

• Comply with all applicable OSHA standards
• Continuous sitting in an office environment
• Continuous use of hand and finger dexterity when operating a keyboard
• Continuous use of sight to view information on a computer screen
