Vice President of Finance

Wholesale Produce Supply, LLC is one of the largest wholesale distributors of fresh produce in the Upper Midwest. Since its start in 1964, Wholesale Produce Supply has been steadily growing and building a stellar reputation in the produce industry.  We are seeking a talented VP if Finance.

Overview:

The Vice President of Finance with an FP&A focus is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis functions of the company. This position also involves light accounting responsibilities to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Essential Job Functions:

       Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop realistic budgets aligned with strategic objectives.

       Develop and maintain robust financial models to support decision-making and scenario planning.

       Conduct variance analysis to track performance against budgets and forecasts, providing insights to senior management.

       Prepare regular management reports and presentations to communicate financial performance and key metrics.

       Forecasting:

       Develop rolling forecasts to provide visibility into future financial performance and facilitate proactive decision-making.

       Identify trends and drivers impacting the business and recommend actions to optimize financial outcomes.

       Collaborate with operational teams to understand market dynamics and incorporate relevant factors into forecasts.

       Strategic Planning:

       Partner with senior leadership to develop long-term financial strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.

       Conduct financial analysis to evaluate investment opportunities, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.

       Assess risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to optimize financial performance and shareholder value.

       Financial Reporting:

       Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

       Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls, liaising with auditors as needed.

       Review financial reports for accuracy and completeness, identifying and addressing any discrepancies.

       Provide oversight for the accounting function, ensuring timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.

       Review journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting activities to maintain integrity of financial data.

       Assist with the implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

 Qualifications:

       Qualifications:

       Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.

       Proven experience in financial planning & analysis, with a track record of driving business performance.

       Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.

       Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

       Strategic mindset with the ability to think long-term and contribute to overall business strategy.

       Effective communication and leadership skills, with experience managing teams and influencing stakeholders.

       Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools, as well as ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).

 Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 25lbs. on occasion.
• Ability to sit at the computer for extended periods of time.
