Credit & Collections Support Clerk

Job Summary:

This role supports the Credit department by performing administrative tasks, small dollar collections and credit card processing.

Job Duties:

• Processes credit card and “check by fax” payments
• Obtains credit applications and process customer trade references
• Runs and prints D&B credit reports
• Scans credit applications and maintain orderly credit files
• Maintains customer “Short Pay Tracker” worksheet in excel
• Sends statements to customers monthly and/or upon request
• Updates customer contact information in accounting software system
• Processes adjustments for small dollar customer misc. deductions
• Performs light collections (small balance customers)
• Processes Bad Debt write-offs quarterly
• Serves as primary back up to A/R Cash Application Specialist (posting payments to customer accounts)
• Maintains organized A/R record retention files according to Company guidelines
• Other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must possess Interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Must have Organization skills
• Ability to interact in a professional manner with employees and vendors/ customers
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Proficient in Excel and Word
• Willingness to work as team member or independently
• Must be dedicated to continuous improvement
