Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Credit and Collections Analyst to join our team.  The primary responsibility of this role is to exercise sound judgment in extending both current and prospective customers while helping manage our overall customer credit portfolio.  The ideal candidate will establish a robust customer onboarding process, evaluating creditworthiness and collecting all pertinent customer data to ensure seamless operations.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain a standardized customer onboarding process to evaluate creditworthiness and collect relevant customer data.
  • Collect all relevant customer data, including proof of non-profit status, resale certificates, key billing, and shipping information as well as customer financials.
  • Provide monthly metrics related to Accounts Receivables health, highlighting key trends and actions taken to improve the credit portfolio.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to all functions within the company, providing insights and recommendations on credit-related matters.
  • Guide the credit granting process, including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews, and assessment of potential customers' creditworthiness.
  • Proactively engage with customers to ensure timely payments and resolve account issues.
  • Lead the transition from paper to electronic invoices across the majority of customers.
  • Manage relationships with collection agencies, credit insurance providers, and internal teams such as Sales and Finance.
  • Conduct periodic credit reviews and approve deductions or credits as necessary.
  • Develop and implement a process for consistently communicating and applying late fees.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, ideally in business or accounting.
  • At least 3 years of direct credit experience.
  • Experience with credit scoring and account management systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of credit-related laws and regulations.
  • Considerable negotiation skills and ability to build positive customer relationships.
  • Technical Proficiency in MS Office and Excel, JD Edwards highly beneficial.
  • Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
  • Ideally bilingual in English/ Spanish.
  • Time Management.
  • Organizational Skills.
  • Communication Proficiency.

 

Work Environment:

This role operates in a professional office environment, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

 

Physical Demands:

The role is mainly sedentary; however, some filing is required.  This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool, as necessary.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, in-person and hours of work are Monday through Friday.

 

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

Must be a US citizen or have a current work visa.
