Wilkes University invites applicants for the full-time, 12-month position of Coordinator of Admissions and Student Affairs in the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy (NSoP). The Nesbitt School of Pharmacy's mission statement is "To educate and develop highly qualified professionals and notably contribute to the ever-changing science and practice of pharmacy." This position will directly support this mission by assisting with recruiting a highly qualified pharmacy applicant pool and supporting student services. The Nesbitt School of Pharmacy is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education.

The successful candidate will work as part of the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy admissions and student affairs team to successfully execute recruitment events, admissions, and student affairs functions within the school of pharmacy. Areas of key responsibilities include:

  • Effectively represent the NSoP to candidates for the Pre-Pharmacy Guaranteed Seat (PPGS) and Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) programs.
  • Assist with recruitment, enrollment, and marketing activities for the PPGS and Doctor of Pharmacy programs.
  • Collaborate with other departments including: marketing, admissions, registrar, and financial aid.
  • Conduct the analysis of professional program candidates and present applicants to the NSoP admissions committee. Evaluate academic progress of professional applicants.
  • Prepare, distribute, and collect documentation (e.g. academic status, admission letters and contracts). Lead PPGS and professional applicants through the matriculation process into the professional program.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain records for students in the professional program.
  • Plan and coordinate logistics of NSoP sponsored events (e.g. Hooding Ceremony, White Coat Ceremony, professional interviews and orientation).
  • Serve as the liaison to outside organizations that sponsor pharmacy awards.
  • Collect data and contribute to the completion of required Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accreditation admissions surveys and reports on pharmacy education standards.
  • Manage the budget related to scholarships, admissions and student affairs events.
  • Provide administrative support for the Associate Dean of Admissions and Student Affairs.

A bachelor's degree and minimum of three years of professional work experience is required. Experience in higher education is preferred. The ideal candidate should be organized, with an ability to prioritize multiple high priority tasks, meet project deadlines with attention to detail and accuracy, work independently on assigned tasks, contribute as an effective team member, and should possess excellent communication skills. The candidate should possess the ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Strong critical thinking (interpretation and application of information and problem solving) skills are necessary. The ideal candidate should be proficient with technology and easily able to adapt to learning new programs. Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends is expected. Occasional University-sponsored travel to off-campus recruitment events is required. A valid driver's license, access to an automobile and safe driving practices are required. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
