HR Assistant Part - Time

SUMMARY: The Part-Time HR Assistant will handle employee information and should always maintain professionalism and confidentiality. The HR Assistant will be assisting in the administration of employee inquiries, HR recordkeeping, and full cycle recruitment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES: Answers employee requests and questions. Assists with recruitment and interview process. Schedules new hire interviews and orientations as requested by Director HR. Prepares and sets up new-employee files. Distributes Payroll checks by-weekly. Files documents into appropriate employee files regarding I9, W4 etc. Assists or prepares correspondence as requested for TWC-Texas Workforce Commission, Unemployment Hearings, TX Health & Human Services, Child Support, United Health Care Coverage, Guardian Dental & Vision, AFLAC Supplemental Insurance, TX Mutual Insurance Incident-Accident inquires, etc. Process requests for copies, mail, scanning and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions. Screen and direct phone calls. Cooperation and compliance with all company processes, procedures, and policies. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED. The ability to multitask and meet month end requirements. 2 plus years’ experience as an HR Assistant, HR Generalist. Effective communication skills. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Proficient in all Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel applications. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must make use of all extremities. Must be able to visibly see and audibly hear. Must be able to climb stairs. WORK ENVIRONMENT: General temperature office environment. Warehouse damp/cold 38 degrees to -10 freezer.
