Job Description

We are currently looking for coaches who are energetic, fun and professional and who are passionate about their sport and working with student athletes in the following sports:

Varsity Softball Coach for the Spring of 2020 season. Preferred experience Pitching and hitting coach. This is a part-time, seasonal position to coach Girls Varsity Softball. The season begins March 23 and runs through May 20. Preseason coaches meetings take place prior to the start of the season. The daily work schedule will vary slightly according to specific team practice and competition schedules, but will generally take place between 3:45pm and 6:00pm time slot. Games will be played primarily on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Varsity Track and Field Coach for the Spring 2020 season. Preferred, horizontal jumps and sprints coach. This is a part-time, seasonal position to coach Track & Field. The season will begin on March 23rd and run through May 16. Practices will typically run 3:45 – 5:45 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays. Wednesday, practices run 2:00-4:00. Games will be held Wednesdays and Saturdays with a 9 meet schedule, including 3 championship meets.

The successful candidates should possess:

Competitive level of experience in the sport with good teaching ability and expertise for skills required to the specific coaching position
Proven ability to exemplify the highest standard of leadership, sportsmanship and respect
Ability to attend team practices, games and events
Ability to motivate and inspire athletes
Demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Serve as a positive role model
Support of multi-sport participation for student-athletes
Promotion of balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes
Compliance with all Loomis Chaffee, Founders League, and NEPSAC policies and procedures.
Proven ability to work in partnership with students, staff, and parents

Experience coaching at some level is preferred, but not required. Additionally, candidates must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check and must possess or obtain First Aid and CPR certification.
