Lead Bus Driver for Head Start Preschool Program

Location: 4629 Aicholtz Road Cincinnati, Ohio 45244 / Clermont County Area

Hours: Shifts range from 6:30 am – 5:30 pm. Multiple 1-hour routes per day based on location assignment.

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED. Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Minimum five year’s driving experience.

Starting Salary : $18.97/hour. 25 – 29 hours per week.

Job Responsibilities: Child Focus is seeking an experienced professional bus driver to serve as a Lead Driver dedicated to providing safe transportation service to children in our Head Start Preschool Program. The Lead Driver develops bus routes using the School Bus Manager system, creates excel spreadsheets and compiles transportation data for reports. The Lead Driver works closely with the State Highway Patrol for bus inspections and assists with managing bus maintenance needs. The Lead Bus Driver may assist with providing transportation training and mentoring other drivers. Lead Driver will work closely in a professional capacity with parents, children and staff. Will provide Pedestrian and School Bus Safety training to all children and their parents.

Preferred candidates will:

• Drive bus for the purpose of transporting enrolled children in program on scheduled routes and/or field trips in a safe and timely manner.
• Operate bus in accordance with safe and legal operating procedures as established by Ohio State Law.
• Relate positively with young children and families
• Work cooperatively with other team members
• Arrange and maintain a daily schedule and detailed route in cooperation with the Assistant Director of Operations and center team.
• Maintain necessary records and route information. Create documents using Word/Excel for reporting data information.
• Maintain cleanliness of bus including interior, floors and windows.
