Material Operations field support

Assist the Material Operations organization by performing duties related to material accountability, operation of the storeroom and storage yards.

Essential Job Functions & Tasks:

The following sets forth the principal duties required for the job that are normally to be performed. Assist the Client Operations organization by performing duties related to stores operations. The following sets forth the principal duties required for the job, which are normally performed. It is not intended to limit the assignment of work or set the degree of supervision under all conditions. An employee may perform miscellaneous, related and incidental work in addition to that outlined below.

Responsibilities:

1. Load and Unload Material

1. Issue material under proper authorization, and process required records.

1. Ability to prepare legible and accurate records and reports.

1. Determine material requirements, and order replenishment stock; complete related records.

1. Check received material for quantity; make visual inspection for identity, breakage, and condition; initiate material receipt and related records.

1. Identify, sort and record material returned; sort bib-usable material into scrap container; communicate material returns to Distribution Centers and Transmission Material Operations team as required.

1. Prepare and pack material for shipment or storage.

1. Maintain and process material operations related records.

1. Conduct Inventory counts and clear discrepancies with Transmission Material Operations Supply Chain Analyst.

1. Receive hazardous material, such as oil, oil containing PCB, and lead-acid batteries, under required safety and environmental procedures.

1. Maintain efficient storage of materials inside conex boxes and/or in outside storage area.

1. Operate material handling equipment such as hand trucks, forklift trucks, low lift trucks, or any other equipment as required.

1. Maintain clean and orderly work areas and equipment.
2. Report irregularities and abnormal conditions

1. Perform duties in accordance with Company safety rules, operating regulations, and practices.

1. Work with Construction Site Coordinators and Line contractors to ensure all material is accounted for and any issues report to assigned to Transmission Supply Chain Analyst.

1. Provide Project status reports on material needs and issues.

1. This position will travel to multiple project sites

1. High school graduate or GED.

1. Electrical Utility Transmission background a Plus
2. One year experience in inventory control and management, material handling, warehousing, or related experience is required.
3. Must possess basic computer skills to use inventory management software such as SAP.
4. Microsoft suite experience required.

1. Must meet all vehicle operation requirements as designated by federal and/or state law.
2. Forklift license and must pass Client Forklift Training

1. Physical Demand level is Heavy
2. Must have the ability to keep neat, concise, and accurate records.
3. Must be able to safely lift and handle materials and equipment weighing up to 70 pounds.
4. Must possess a strong working knowledge of logistics related to shipping and receiving inventory.
5. Must understand and perform basic math functions.
6. Must be able to work independently and possess good communication skills.
7. Must have sufficient knowledge and skills to perform the duties and/or responsibilities listed above, and also have the physical capabilities to perform the required work.
