Plant Controller

We are seeking a Plant Controller to join our team!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides analysis of key plant performance metrics, shares insights with plant operations leadership on performance trends.
• Leads proactive development of contingency plans, productivity improvement, and corrective actions to ensure facility financial results are optimized.
• Direct the preparation and analysis of the annual operating plan, quarterly re-forecasts, capital plan, monthly operating results, trends, and operating forecasts in order to meet facility objectives.
• Own and improve upon the plant’s cost standard setting process (bill of materials, labor, etc.) for enhanced plant performance reporting, and accurate budgets.
• Assist on individual product costing analysis, including new product development and innovation.
• Own the plant’s monthly and annual close process in an accurate and timely manner.
• Review and present financial and operating metrics to the plant leadership team to drive continuous improvement in plant costs.
• Partner with Corporate Controller with analysis and key drivers of variances and trends.
• Assist in investment analysis and decision making in areas such as Capital projects.
• Oversee accuracy in the plant’s Fixed Asset listing, and direct determination of the appropriate depreciation rates.
• Perform monthly and annual Inventory valuation.
• Own plant KPI reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
• Work closely with leadership and Continuous Improvement Team to identify opportunities and develop strategies, understand internal business operations, and make decisions on process development and implementation to increase efficiencies and create cost savings.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience that includes Manufacturing/Production Accounting work - highly preferred in Meat Protein, Food, CPG, or related industries.
• Intermediate/Advanced understanding of Cost Accounting principles and processes
• Proven experience must include analyzing data, using it to drive business decisions/results, and identifying potential problems.
• The ideal individual with have had people leadership and staff development.
• Solid understanding of GAAP.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• Manufacturing experience in Meat Protein or Food industry.
• Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) • People leadership experience
