Salary:

Job Title: Director of Finance

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Status: Permanent // Exempt, Full-time Salary // Supervisory Position // Hybrid Schedule

Compensation and Benefits: 

  • $95,000+ annual salary, based on experience
  • Quarterly Bonus Program earning up to 10% of quarterly salary, based on meeting performance goals

Job Summary:

The Director of Finance will oversee the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s accounting and financial services and departments, supporting and promoting profitable goals and objectives. This role will also oversee and supervise the payroll functions of the organization, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, hires, trains, and manages professional-level staff within the department. 
  • Oversees the schedules and responsibilities of staff in the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.  


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements, operates, maintains, and controls the essential operating systems, information, and financial business of the company.
  • Prepares monthly financial statements for all entities and reports results to internal and external parties.
  • Liaison to income and franchise tax preparation firm, including responsibility for all tax estimates and filings.
  • Defines and implements key performance indicators and strategic objectives for the department and, as appropriate, the entire organization; facilitates measurement of those objectives, reporting results to the executive team.
  • Oversees all property & casualty insurance lines and works with brokers to ensure company and owner's insurance are compliant.
  • Drafts and implements policies and best practices to support achievement of objectives and required standards.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Maintains current knowledge of developments and trends in finance, accounting, treasury and tax, including technological advances.
  • Oversees procedures and processes and manages inquiries and requests related to preparation and distribution of payroll.
  • Processes payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable financial and legal best practices and requirements, with a proven ability to provide sound and ethical financial counsel to executive leadership.
  • Thorough understanding of and personal involvement with systems and methodologies of Finance and Accounting.
  • Proficient with payroll software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; M.B.A. preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant status is highly desired.
  • Five years of experience in the financial functions of a company is required.
  • Two years in a supervisory or management role is preferred.


Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
