The Opportunity:

The Gary E. West College of Business at West Liberty University seeks to fill a full-time non tenure track faculty position with primary teaching responsibilities in finance, economics, business statistics, and general business, with possible conversion to tenure-track in the future based on academic credentials and experience.

Candidates must have a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service (college, university and community). The successful candidate must have excellent communication, collaboration and critical thinking skills. Other duties include student advisement, curriculum development, and recruitment. University involvement, in both college and university-wide activities, is required.

A master's degree in finance, economics, business statistics, or a master's degree in business with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required. A doctorate degree in business administration and/or business, with 8 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is desirable. Certification as a Certified Financial Planner by the CFP Board is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will be able to teach courses in finance, economics, business statistics and general business, including but not limited to Introduction to Business, Principles of Finance, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Business Statistics and/or Quantitative Business Analysis, and other foundational business courses. In addition to traditional classroom instruction, the person who holds this position will be required to teach online courses, at the undergraduate level and the graduate level as qualifications allow. Preference will be given to candidates with industry experience and teaching experience at the college level.

Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. This position includes a comprehensive benefit package. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

Education Requirement: 

• Master's degree in business administration, with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline, required.
• Doctoral degree in business administration, with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline, highly desirable.
• Industry experience is highly desirable, with preference given to candidates with teaching experience at the college level.
