Material Handler

Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:30am - 3pm
Starting Wage: $20/hr.
$5,000 Retention Bonus (paid out over 1st year of employment)
SUMMARY
Receives, stores, and issues equipment, material, supplies, or merchandise, and compiles stock records in stockroom or warehouse. Initiates and completes inventory transactions and records using Epicor manufacturing software. Drives liquefied gas or electric powered forklifts to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, tools, or materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Stores articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material.
- Fills orders or issues supplies from stock.
- Retrieves articles to fill incoming orders using pull tickets, pick lists, or other forms. Delivers items to appropriate points of use.
- Consults supervisor on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock and location changes.
- Marks identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles.
- Distributes stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued.
- Determines methods of storage, identification, and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space.
- Moves or transports material or supplies to other departments.
- Maintains inventory and other stock records.
- Completes all inventory transactions via Epicor manufacturing software
- Recharges batteries, fills fuel tank, or replaces liquefied gas tank.
- Practices safe work habits and wears all issued personal protective equipment at all times in the workplace.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or WORK EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience using Epicor manufacturing software is highly desired.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Possesses or is able to acquire valid forklift driver’s license.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
