To achieve that mission, LAYC/MMYC provides services and opportunities to approximately 5,000 individuals annually to support academic achievement, promote healthy behaviors, and guide youth toward successful adulthood. LAYC/MMYC also conducts advocacy and public policy work to broaden opportunities for youth.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates case management services to children and their families.
  • Coordinates and assists with the safe and timely release of children to their sponsors.
  • Responsible for training case manager and supervising the work of the case manager and transportation specialist.
  • Conducts intakes and provides feedback to Family Resource Specialist and Clinical Supervisor regarding admissions and placement.
  • Helps create a safe and inviting environment for participants.
  • Develops, monitors and updates participants’ individualized services and case plans in collaboration with participants and relevant service providers.
  • Documents all contacts with and on behalf of children and their families within 48 hours of contact.
  • Ensures that indicators of safety, well-being and self-sufficiency, as appropriate, are being addressed and recorded in ETO and Office of Refugee Resettlement database.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in the behavioral sciences, human services, or social services fields and at least three years progressive employment experience that demonstrates supervisory and case management experience.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of community and local resources.
  • Flexible schedule, including occasional evening and weekends.
  • Bilingual or fluent/proficient: English and Spanish required.
  • Complete criminal and child abuse/neglect clearances.
  • Flexible, energetic, positive individual with commitment to youth development in a high quality, respectful environment.
  • Ability to work well and communicate with culturally diverse populations.
  • LAYC/MMYC requires the COVID-19 vaccine of all its employees. You will be asked to provide proof of vaccination at the time of your interview and at your onboarding.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 10 lbs. May require the ability to travel locally and/or regionally.
