Description
The Business Development Director is a mid level position who serves as the primary relationship owner for an assigned group of top tier Federal client accounts with responsibility for retention and growth. You will ensure clients derive maximum value from our services. You will prepare implementation plans and lead client on-boarding as well as present content strategy and an annual plan. You will work closely with Federal clients to identify needs including content approval workflows, solicit end-user feedback, and consult on best practices for solutions and implementation.
 
You will prepare and deliver effective client presentations, including stakeholders at all levels of Federal Agencies. You will deliver regular pipeline status and result updates to internal and external teams. You will identify new opportunities from within existing accounts, partnering with the delivery team to aid in increasing revenue. You will maintain deep client relationship to anticipate their needs and provide them timely solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • The selected candidate will demonstrate the experience and career path trajectory required to manage the full scope of business practices required to manage an opportunity pipeline, including business development, opportunity identification and qualification, associated reviews and client management through opportunity close
  • Proactively and efficiently manage resources with dedicated teams, virtual teams, and executive staff around opportunities to ensure successful outcomes
  • This position is a mid level business development and management position and therefore it is expected this individual will manage a dynamic, multi-year pipeline of opportunities in various stages of maturity
  • The successful candidate understands the missions of the respective agencies and their cultures, organizational components, leadership, major programs and challenges
  • The candidate is responsible for leading Target Agency /Customer strategic planning and positioning with full support from a corporate infrastructure that includes, subject matter expertise covering a broad range of portfolio capabilities
  • The candidate is responsible for capture management, proposal development for opportunities identified 
  • Align the overall corporate solution to the customer’s business needs, challenges, and technical requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills: writing, editing and presenting
  • Ability to resolve complex problems
  • Identify new clients and emerging markets
  • Provide a consultative sales approach to clients
  • 85-90% travel required

Skills Knowledge and Expertise
  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years successful experience as a direct contributor carrying an individual quota in the Federal space
  • Experience in software sales and subscriber business models is preferred but not required, proficient in concepts around cloud and infrastructure
  • Ability to identify and qualify select opportunities and initiate call plans 6-18 months ahead to shape outcomes
  • Experience with the creation and execution of quarterly and annual business plans
  • Military and/or SOF background 
This position will require access to restricted information and facilities protected under U.S. laws and regulations, including the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM). Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. Citizenship to meet federal government security screening requirements required for this role.
