Presbyterian Village North has immediate openings for full time LANDSCAPING TECHNICIANS!$500.00 Sign On Bonus - paid out in 3 installments.Pay range $17.00 - $21.00 DOEDay shift, Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pmGreen thumbs wanted! ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Operate push or riding lawnmowers; may operate heavier tractor equipment if needed
Water all plants and lawn, and ensure all plants are evenly covered
Remove weeds and dead plants; prune overgrown limbs and leaves
Operate string trimmer and edger to remove overgrowth and keep outdoor area tidy
Use leaf blower to clear walkways and pedestrian areas after lawn maintenance
Maintain the existing landscaping design and ensure plant survival
Plant new flowers, bushes, plants, and decorative shrubs
Rake fallen leaves and remove debris
Keep pedestrian areas removed of snow and ice
Remove tree limbs, overgrowth, and other hazards
Properly store and handle all equipment, tools, sprinklers, etc.
Model a service attitude towards others, take ownership in solving problems and take the initiative to make things better, is friendly and courteous to residents, patients and co-workers
Ensure resident/patient, visitor, and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazards
Maintain good attendance record
Complete routine maintenance on all department equipment
Seasonally change the annual flower beds and assist in the preparation
Maintain a clean and attractive exterior appearance, including grounds, sidewalks, drives, parking lots, patios, and trash receptacles
Genuine caring for and interest in the care of mature adults, persons with disability and hospice patients
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with supervisors and subordinates in English
Bilingual preferred
Valid TX drivers license with clean driving record
Ability to read and comprehend manufactures instruction on lawn related chemicals
Two or more years in the care and maintenance of lawn, trees, flowering plants and shrubs
Knowledge of small engines operations preferable
Ability to push/pull lawn mowers, carry and operate a gas weed eater, use of shovel, hoe and rake
Ability to lift 50 pound bags of fertilizer or other supplies
Work in/or about situations near direct automotive traffic
Work near or about natural bodies of water
Work with various types of work lifts
Able to work overtime or extended shifts if required by Management
Ability to work in extreme conditions working temperatures may be between 0 and 100
degrees Fahrenheit
Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time
Ability to work in extreme cold or wintry precipitation
Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day
Ability to perform Essential Duties
Ability to perform work tasks within the Physical Demand Requirements
Ability to comply with the Resident Bill of Rights and Employee Responsibilities
Ability to comply with organizational and departmental safety policies and procedures
