Controller

LHH is seeking a Controller for our client in Santa Fe, NM. Our client in the cannabis industry is looking for the perfect candidate for this hybrid opportunity. In this role, you will support the day-to-day financial operations of the accounting department and provide financial analysis to executive leaders. This is a newly created position based on growth. Salary range for the opportunity is $80,000-$100,000 plus comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting & financial operations to include accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger activities, and more
• Lead accounting department
• Mentor team with appropriate guidance and support when needed
• Prepare financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for further analysis
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for accounting department
• Maintain compliance with regulations and standards, including cannabis-specific regulations
• Develop & implement KPIs and dashboards
• Assist with developing budgets and forecasts
• Monitor actual performance against budgets and trends, explain variances when needed
• Gather financial data with appropriate department heads for accurate reporting
• Manage company cash flow
• Conduct financial audits for risk mitigation
• Maintain professional relationships with vendors, investors, and financial institutions

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA/CMA preferred
• Experience in a Controller level position
• Experience in retail, manufacturing, or cannabis industry
• Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Ability to communicate and present to all levels of internal and external parties
